Good news for 07 Elantra owners!

Hello everyone. Glad to have joined the Hyundai Forums. I ampleased to announce that Hyundai has yeilded to consumer pressure and is now offering the much awaited speedometer error fix for the 2007 Hyundai Elantra. As some of you may or may not know, an unknown amount of 07 Elantras have a speedometer error of 5-7 miles per hour. Most read faster than you are actually going. After a NHTSA Office Of Defects Investigation, Hyundai has now offered to reprogram the ECU as part of their customer satisfaction action. The service bulletin number is 0790010. The NHTSA number is 10023141. We thank Hyundai for releasing this much needed update to the ECU. Be sure and have your dealer check your vehicle for proper operation as most people may not notice the error without testing equipment. Good luck and happy driving!

Oh wow! It never occurred to me this was a fixable issue. I didn't even notice it until my wife started using a GPS in the car. No wonder I got dirty looks when I set the cruise right at the speed limit.
