Heater control not working properly

Sometime last year my heater speed control stopped working. 0 for off of course still works fine. 1,2,3 speed setting does nothing. 4 for max works fine. I was told by a few people the heater control unit right below the radio has the resistor in it and replacing this should fix the problem. I picked up a used one and still have the same problem. Of course the used one could be bad (it was a low milage car), but I'm not so sure.

If I put my ear down in the passenger side foot area and turn the heater control to 1, I can hear the blower unit make a 'click' like it is getting a signal.

Any ideas on what I could test for? I'm at the point where I think it could be the blower motor.

Thanks ahead of time!
Dave

I'm guessing it's the Blower Resistor, but it sounds like you already tried that. The connector for it is labeled "I24" in this picture:

For reference here are the schematics out of the Hyundai service manual:

RE: Heater control not working properly

Well.....it looks like I was told the wrong part by a couple people including the Hyundai dealer. The part I replaced was what they call the blower switch in the first pic from the SM. They told me the resistor was part of this unit.

At least I know what I need now. Thanks. I'll update after I get it installed.

RE: Heater control not working properly

I got the part today as pictured above (I24). This fixed the problem. The part number I picked up was 97035-3D000 and was about 45 dollars.

I wish I would have looked at the old part first. It looks like just the solder connection popped off. Oh well. It's fixed either way.

Thanks again for your help.
