Heater control not working properly
Sometime last year my heater speed control stopped working. 0 for off of course still works fine. 1,2,3 speed setting does nothing. 4 for max works fine. I was told by a few people the heater control unit right below the radio has the resistor in it and replacing this should fix the problem. I picked up a used one and still have the same problem. Of course the used one could be bad (it was a low milage car), but I'm not so sure.
If I put my ear down in the passenger side foot area and turn the heater control to 1, I can hear the blower unit make a 'click' like it is getting a signal. Any ideas on what I could test for? I'm at the point where I think it could be the blower motor. Thanks ahead of time! Dave |
RE: Heater control not working properly
I'm guessing it's the Blower Resistor, but it sounds like you already tried that. The connector for it is labeled "I24" in this picture:

RE: Heater control not working properly
Well.....it looks like I was told the wrong part by a couple people including the Hyundai dealer. The part I replaced was what they call the blower switch in the first pic from the SM. They told me the resistor was part of this unit.
At least I know what I need now. Thanks. I'll update after I get it installed. |
RE: Heater control not working properly
I got the part today as pictured above (I24). This fixed the problem. The part number I picked up was 97035-3D000 and was about 45 dollars.
I wish I would have looked at the old part first. It looks like just the solder connection popped off. Oh well. It's fixed either way. Thanks again for your help. |
RE: Heater control not working properly
Awesome.... I'm glad it fixed it!
