Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default loss of power

Im new here so not sure if this is mentioned somewhere else but im having an issue with my 2002. The dam thing pulls hard from a stop but loses power at about 2500 and picks it back up around 3500 rpm. has anyone had this problem or heard about it? i wouldnt really care about it, but pulling out into a busy street is very difficult when your losing power in every gear.

sounds similar to my 96. it does this at certain oil levels. mine burns oil a little since it seems to have worn piston rings. sometimes this causes mine to lose power. b/c of this i tend to run it with a little less oil ( but still above the min fill line on the dipstick)

my clutch is also pretty worn out.

if your car is an automatic it could need fluid or a fluid change and a new transmission filter
