New plugs, what to set the gap at??
 

I just picked up a set of bosch platinum plugs for my girlfriends 99 elantra, what should i set the gap at???

Proper plugs for the vehicle are NGK. Those bosch will cause hesitation upon acceleration. Anyway if you want specs you can look them up at www.hmaservice.com.[:o]

Do NOT..I repeat .....DO NOT put those peice of crap Bosch plugs in the car , they heat up in the center and cause crappy misfire occurances ,and like tech said they do not work properly at all...I dont know who these freekin checker and auto Zone dorks are ........but man they must have an over stock on them things.I've had to redo more customer doit yourself tuneups because of them things, juz get NGK or if ya must Denso.........the work the best for these cars because they're made for these cars

Ya platnum plugs suck holdway to much heat and cause preignition! And plug gap is ushall right under the hood located by the hood relese

has anyone heard of the splitfire spark plugs? can these work in an elantra engine??

I have used the platinum fours and they work great. As for the gap......it's a platinum plug, it doesn't need gapped.

dont bother with these they are overpriced crap stick to the standard ngk bkr5e-11 and the 11 stands for the gaps (1.1mm)[sm=badidea.gif] they are just as good if not better and cheaper.

I also just purchased the Bosch Platinum + 4 Plugs in my 04' Elantra and I've had no problems and you do NOT need to set the gaps.
