P0130 CEL Code (O2 Sensor) Warranty

Hello. Today my Elantra 2003 GLS started to hesitate and the check engine light came on. I went to Autozone and the code came back as P0130 - H02S 11 circuit condition (Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1). I am the second owner of the car and it has 57,000 miles on it. Willthe replacement of the sensor be covered under warranty? Thanks for the help.

that depends when the car was first purchased. As a secound owner you get a 5 year 60,000 mile waranty..

SO depending on when it was bought depends on if its is still covered. wont hurt to go there and check....

My guess is that since it's a part that is supposed to fail and should be replaced, then they probably won't cover it. The good news is that it's cheap and relativly easy to replace.

Not true. The used 2003 Hyundai Accent my wife and I purchased for her mother had an O2 sensor die back in March of 2008. The car hadjust under 45K miles and was about 3 months away from being 5 years old. Not only was the O2 sensor replaced for free but they found the flex pipe in the exhaust was leaking (unknown to us) and they replaced that for free as well.

Update. I took the car to the Hyundai dealership this morning. They confirmed that the O2 sensor was bad and replaced it free of charge. The car runs fine now. Thanks for the posts.
