My 2009 Elantra has been slipping out of park now for some time. It would jump once or twice when parked on an incline. Now it will walk down the hill in park.

The car has 40K on the clock and the dealer said they will put in a new transmission rather than spend the labor to repair the old one. So the car went in on Tuesday and won't be fixed until next Friday (maybe). But they gave me a loaner through enterprise, its a toyota corolla and I have it for the duration.

Never had a parking pall issue with a car before. Thats a first for me.

Had that problem with your elantra??

I wonder what that would cost if I did not have the 100K warranty?? Any idea?

 

The dealer has had the car since last Tuesday, not this past Tuesday, and nothing has happened, no tranny in town as yet.

The dealer indicated they were installing a rebuilt Transmission. That was a bit of a surprise, I thought the new car warranty called for new parts to be used on warranty repairs.

Anyone know the answer to that question?
