Default radiator drain

Hi

I have a brand new radiator installed in my 2001 elantra, I need to change the hoses (I should have done this before if I was smart)-I need to drain the radiator-but I need to know how to drain the plug at the bottom-I still from the old school and I'm used to a petcock on the steel radiators of the muscle-cars. How do I remove loosen the drain plug to let enough coolant out so I can change the hose and I'll change the thermostat while I at it-do you recommend the coolant sender also?-

Thanks in advance for your help

I have a 2000 Elantra and my radiator has a plastic petcock. You should be able to turn the lever and open the lock and drain the fluid.
