Default shift selector light

Hi

I have a 2001 elantra and the light that illuminates the auto shift selector on the floor in the console does not light up. I checked the fuses and they all appear to be OK. The dealer told me that the entire floor console has to come out to get to the light bulb that is probally burnt out, they also told me that this is a grat amount of labor work. Is that all true, and could I get step by step instructions(pictues if possible) on how to get to this light to replace it.
Thanks in advance

No, you just have to remove the shift **** and then pull the upper cover up from the console.
