Transmission Issue

Hello guys,

There is an issue in my Hyundai Elantra 2000 Model car when changing gear to drive (Auto Gear) Issue is the engine jumping forward when changing the gear to drive and Reverse.
Engine details as follows.
1.6L DOHC 16Valve

Two things you might want to have checked out.
First if idle speed is too high, will ram trans into gear producing lurch,
The other is damaged motor mounts usually caused by jack rabbit starts..

Have you ever changed trans fluid?
You sure the engine is jolting? It could be the transmission. check transmission fluid level and its color and smell. color sometimes can be ignored but if it smells bad/burnt or the level is low this could be the cause. If thats the case then the first thing to do is get a bottle of lucas trans slip and add half of it into the transmission after removing the same amount of fluid, drive the car for few kms or just run it idle but make sure to change the gears. after a few days if you dont see any new problems then add the remaining after removing the same amount. then after a week try to replace your trans fluid 1 liter a week.
But be sure to check the engine mounts as well. I feel like its a transmission issue and not the engine mounts.
