Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default RE: weight reduction

If yowould like to go all out and not care about the comfortsd e.g. aircon then a few minor suggestions are remove the aircon (10-15Kg) remove the radio and speakers (13kg) replace the wiring harness with teflon cable (30-45kg) take out the sound dampening off the floor and fire walls (Use dry Ice to do it is much easier this way anywhere from 20-40Kg)

Hope this helps

also you can get rid of your rear seats, replace the fronts with race seats, replacing the stock exhaust with a s.s. exhaust, manifold withaheader, replace the stock rims with lightwieght race rims. remember every little thing will eventurally add up. i've seen tiburons and elantras that claim a 2K lbs. dry weight. thats around a 600-700 weight reduction, they claim that for every 100lbs lost, a 10th of second is gained in the 1/4mile run, but also depends on the car, for a light wieght car like an elantra, it could be more. good luck
