Hyundai Elantra While not much larger than the accent, the Elantra offers similar room, but a sportier look and feel, as well as more power.

Default Wife's 2000 Elenatra goes kaput.

Hi,

My wife's 2000 Elantra randomly dies while driving.

I have a background in motors from my own hotrods, but mostly Modular Fords.

She claims once every so often while cruising, her car intermittently loses steering and all power, in which then she must pull over, throw it in park and restart the car.

To me this sounds like some sort of fuel issue. The car has approximately 130k miles.

Could someone please direct me in the right direction? I did some brief researching and it seems this was a somewhat common issue in the early 2000s.

Thanks
