2009 HYUNDAI i30 FD cruise control help
 

hello i am wondering could it be possialbe to put a factory cruise control on to my HYUNDAI I30 2009 FD auto . I was wondering will a Hyundai Elantra cruise control work if yes could u give me parts list please cause here in australia i was told it cant be done , only the I30 HYUNDA CW have got crusie control in them and cant be add to a I30 FD model . i find out that the crusie control switchs are on the right hand side of the steer whe

Take the car to a Hyundai dealer.Tell them you want cruise control. They'll have an outside jobber do the work and supply the kit, but if you go THROUGH the dealer it's covered on your warranty. I had a 2008 Accent sedan with a 5-speed. I bought the car in Fairfax, Va. near Washington DC, moved to New England but was in New Port Richey, Florida and decided I wanted cruise control. So, New Port Richey Hyundai installed it for me. Cost $600.00 but I got it done.

I am NOT a shill for Hyundai dealers on any level beyond the practical. That said, you almost have to go to the dealer with this stuff. Their guys have done LOTS of them, but if you go to a stereo shop or whatever folks that deal aftermarket goodies to have it added, THEY haven't done many, if any, cruise control on an I-30 Touring. Then, if there's a problem, you're flat outta luck if there's a problem with the computer or throttle control sensors afterward.

As regards the dealers, (again, I'm not pushing the dealer, per se') they know the car. They know and have the support of the factory and the technology of every model, not to mention the enormous knowledge base that resides in every dealer via the technicians.

I change my own oil, plugs, filters, dump and fill my own radiator, transmission fluids, air filters, stuff like that. You keep your receipts, mark the service record that comes with your owner's manual and Hyundai will respect your warranty for ALL of it. But when you start talking electronics (besides maybe an alternator change-out or a starter, a battery, self-evident failures) that involve throttle positioning, the computer, emissions or wiring inside or out besides stereo wiring, the dealer is the place to go because after all, once again, the tech at Hyundai has done thousands of your problem or accessory add-on, folks outside haven't done any. I really don't need OJT done on my car outside the Hyundai environment.

So go get your cruise control!;)
