I parked an i30 hire car on Saturday at approx 10.30pm and it was gone when I returned at 2pm on Monday. There was a pile of broken glass by the kerb although that may have been there when I parked it.

I thought I was just going mad at first so I spent a few hours scouring the neighbourhood. Eventually I gave up and reported it stolen. This morning the Police called me to say it has been found abandoned 30 minutes away.

How on earth did they steal it without the key?

It is not keyless entry/start, just regular remote central locking.

It's only worth about £10,000 so I struggle to believe anyone with the technical know-how would target such a vehicle?
