Anyone installed an ET B&M sport shifter kit?
Hi, I have a 2011 ET GLS model with a 5 speed. I am thinking about buying the B&M Sport Shifter accessory (Hyundai part # U8190-2H000), but wonder how hard it is to install. Has anyone done this? Also, is there much difference in the throw between the standard shifter and the B&M Sport? Thanks, Chris

I have it on my GLS sport
I drove with the regular shifter for 2 weeks and then received the BM is ordered when buying the car I've had the car for 3 months now I like it but I'm not sure it is worth the retail price they ask for The oem shifter is already pretty good in this car and throws are not so long The BM shortens the shifts a bit but not enough to make a huge difference The feeling of shifting is better and more direct(reminds me of my 2006 Lancer Ralliart) You actually feel you are moving pieces that connects to the tranny It shortens the height of the shifter so little you'll barely notice it The reversing knob feels a bit cheaper than the oem one and I can foresee that this will need extra lubing in a short while. the unit is selling for 400$ CAD over here...I believe you can get aftermarket parts for much cheaper(100$) that will have the same quality and improvement but then maybe your dealership will start complaining when you get issues |
Thank you very much for the insight! Maybe I won't worry about getting a sport shifter. I do like the standard shifter as it is.....
