A/C while idleing
 

Just picked up my new touring today! Hope I made the right decision. I noticed while idleing in traffic for several minutes the vibration of the car was louder than I remembered during the test drive. What is slightly concerning is that when I turn the A/C on the vibration increases while idleing. I don't notice this in our sonata, but this happens in my 1997 prizm (I thought just because the car is old). Is this common in smaller cars?

I haven't noticed extra vibration but have noticed the ac doesn't cool as good while sitting a light. I think this is common in small cars though.
My subaru that I replaced used to vibrate while ideling but I only noticed it after I had the 65,000 srvice done.
I'll pay attention tonight when I drive home.

The A/C compressor is run directly off the engine. It has nothing to do with the voltage regulator.

No vibration when sitting at a light (ideling).
When I mentioned the a/c does not work as good when ideling, it just doesn't cool as good as when moving. I think that is with compact cars, my wife's Civic and my old Subaru was like that (not as much).

I have not had any issues with other items loosing power. The radio still works fine and I never noticed a reduction in the lights or fan.

Yes, that's generally what I said. The Engine RPM is a little low at idle to spin the compressor enough so the A/C temp rises slightly. It has nothing to do with the voltage regulator or the blower fan speed.

About the only thing to do is raise the idle rpm and that's something the dealer would have to do.
