To Debadge or not Debage

Hey, guys. I've been going back and forth on the idea of removing the Elantra, Touring, and Hyundai badges on the rear of my Touring and just leaving the flying "H" in the middle. Would appreciate any input, opinions, photo-shops, pictures, etc. from anyone on how it would look. Debadge looked great on my Tiburon and Sonata, but don't know about the hatch. Thank ahead of time.

Why would you want to 'debadge' ??

It's a matter of opinion, but I think it makes the back end of the car look much cleaner (certain models of course, hence the reason for this thread) by removing the 'clutter' of the make and model lettering.

I want to do that to mine, but not sure if they are just stuck on or if removing the badges leave holes behind?
I think it would nice. Like this pic http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4039/...0c85f3eeba.jpg
Leaving the H on the front and back, everything else gone

The two prior Hyundais I've owned have only had holes for the H emblem. The others were removed with a bit of Goo Gone and dental floss.

Sweet, then I am going to take them off this weekend and then post some pictures.

I wish I could do the same, but with a half a foot of snow and no garage I'll have to wait.

Well being the lazy guy I have been still have not done it. We are supposed to have a partly sunny weekend. So I will try it again.

Lol, I went ahead and did it a couple of weeks ago. Definitely a harder job than on my Sonata for some reason(have they switched glues? ;) ). Looks good, but like I said in my other thread I haven't been able to get a good picture since the weather's been dreary and wet.

removed the "Elantra" badge, feeling much better now

I love my Touring. That said, I hate the Elantra name. It's a fiction, and a bad one at that, as it serves no purpose other than to diminish the value of the Touring. I have to explain to others that it is not the sedan and not related to the sedan.

On top of that, the Elantra badge is ugly, a piece of black plastic with tiny lettering. It looks like those throw-away embossed plastic segments that came in the plastic model kits of my childhood. It doesn't match the rest of the car, and can't be read unless you're up close anyway. It seems even Hyundai was too embarrassed to put a full-size Elantra badge on it.

So last week I removed the Elantra badge, and the back end looks much better now. If you look closely, you might notice the word Touring on the right is a little lower than Hyundai on the left, which was done to allow the Elantra to go above without looking imbalanced. With the Elantra gone, there is no reason for Touring to be lower, but this is only noticeable if you are looking for it. Regardless, I am considering another modification that will fix this. Will let you all know when it happens.
