i get 13.5 l/100km. i do drive pretty much all city, short hops:(

Still super impressed.. rarely a tank below 30 mpg and the only trip to the dealer was because the tire pressure light was on and I was going by anyhow (got damn cold that day).

Anyway.. just a happy, satisfied Hyundai owner here.. not one problem..

wow i thought mine was bad. i get about 10.5l/100km. about 2 litres short of the expected amount. hopefully will get better.

I think I am about what is expected after 10 fill-ups

Just found this thread and I'm also getting ca. 13l/100k in the city - at low speed, lots of stops. I know that stop and go is inefficient - though unavoidable where I drive - still, seems very underwhelming! Wondering if there's any recourse ie is this bad enough to discuss with the dealer service dept?
In fact I did ask a few months ago when car was in for oil change and was told then: snow tires, car not "broken in" yet, try a tank of "super" (which I did, at great extra expense - and as I expected without any change in kpl)...

Poor mileage is 99% the DRIVERS FAULT. Change your driving habits.

Totally agree. 99% poor mileage is driver driving habits. AC obviously lowers mileage, quick acceleration and quick braking too.

You might try buying the SCANGUAGE to monitor your fuel mileage. I plan to buy one myself when my new car is ready.

I bought my 2010 ET SE 4spd auto in March 2010, trading in a 2008 Scion XD. I had 14 things I didn't like about my Scion. 27k on it now.

I've experimented with gas milage at different speeds and using California "gas" and real gas (anywhere that is not California).

MPG calculated going on level or about 30 minutes minimum.

Outside of a few cheap made plastic items, I really love this car and wish they had kept this model but put in a different engine and transmission. Will not consider the GT. Too small.

My Mileage Has Exceeded Expectations
 

My first posting...
I've had my 5 spd manual Touring for just under 2 months and have just returned from a 4000km/2400 mile round trip.
I'll try to convert to MPG in US gallons and litres/100 km.
Worst hwy mileage was 33.2MPG or 7 l./100km and best was 37.3MPG or 6.2 l./100km.
Based on my GPS the speedo overreads by about 2% so the figures are a little worse than stated assuming the ODO also overreads. My speeds were pretty much at the posted limits although in Ontario I kept with the traffic flow - 55 to 60mph most of the time. (As I was travelling alone there wasn't much to do other than soak up the great scenery, listen to audiobooks through the handy audio input and figure out gas mileage!)
During the trip I accelerated normally and used the A/C when needed so I wasn't playing the Freddy Featherfoot role at all.
The ET has an older engine so it isn't a perfect fuel miser but I was very favourably impressed with how little fuel it used getting me and a fair bit of stuff to and fro on this trip.:)

That is about my experience as well. The only time I get under 30 mpg is when doing all city driving and then the worst has been around 28. I have gotten up to 37 as well and that was from Denver to Moab over mountain passes and cruising at 75-80 mpg on the flats in between.

Other than the crappy clutch going out at 12296 miles, the ET has been a good car, but I plan on selling at soon as my BBB claim is done. I don't want a Hyundai anymore, no faith in the company..
