Default Driver side floor mat question

Has anyone noticed quick wear on the driver side floor mat? Mine has nearly worn all the way through where my right heal rests for hitting the gas and brakes. My Touring is a 2010 and bought in June of 2010. The wear seems really fast to me. I had a 2005 Santa Fe and drove it until I got the Touring and never had this issue. Are these mats less quality? I think I may invest in the rubber mat guards because of this.

We have a 2011 Elantra Touring 7,500 miles and it has the same wear that you are talking about. I was going to talk with the dealer when I go in in a couple of weeks. Definitely premature ... I have replacement mats in our other car purchased from AutoZone with 30,000 miles them, with no indication of damage!

Same situation. My ET SE/MT is eight months old (with 6,000 miles) and the driver's side mat is just about worn out. Many of the rubber nubs on the back are worn out and the rubber backing is starting to split. Luckily, I have a set of rubber mats to install. But disappointing nonetheless.

My passenger side is ripped around the hold down pin. That side sees a passenger for about an hour a week. Car is 9 months old. Pretty pathetic.
