Engine Flare

2011 Touring A/T, noticed an engine flare (rpms going up) during some shifting today. Seems to happen under light loads. Car was well warmed up after I noticed this. There are no TSBs for this problem on this model but I did notice previous Hyundai's have had this issue. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Trans fluid is at the correct level. Thanks

same here. it seems to happen almost all the time now shifting in to 3rd gear(or 4th, i can't remember as it's my wife's car and i drive it infrequently) during normal speeds (not fast). it's going in for an oil change on monday and we'll see what the dealership says as i mentioned it to them...

Yes, seems to happen mostly between 3rd and 4th.
I will be very interested to hear what the dealer has to say.

an absolutely stunning development! dealership just called to inform me that they will be installing a new transmission!? when i asked specifically why, i was told it's just one of those things? they are ordering the transmission, which should take a week to arrive. then they will need one day to install.

this is coming off the heels of a blown head gasket just 4 months ago! shaking my head and thinking i have a lemon on my hands. thankful for the warranty but pretty sure i am done with hyundai's...

Wow

Thats crazy! My car did something different today. While shifting between 3-4 while going up a hill the engine just kept revving, like I had a manual trans with a slipping clutch. This is not a good sign. 10 year 100K warranty, we might need every bit of it.
