Headlight replacement help needed

2009 hyundai elantra touring base model. Can't find a YouTube video for it. It it best to remove the headlight housing to do this? Thank you.

There are three bolts holding the lamps in, two along the upper edge of the lamp and one on the side of the lamp assembly closest to the radiator. After that it's a solid push with your hand to get them to spring out, they are tight and seem to catch along the lower edge on the bumper trim so a bit of persistence is needed.

So the headlight housing does need to be removed to achieve this properly?

Well, anything is possible if you have small enough hands and can contort your body enough. However, it's easier to just remove the housings. Make sure the bulb is not touched by your hands or other dirt and be sure to insert it correctly in the mount. There are tabs to position it correctly.

Just my luck, tried for a bit lastnight then decided the stores were closed so I'd call it a night and try it again in the am. Went to try it again this am, and the hood is stuck shut. Tried to have the auto shop guy pull the hood release from inside then lift it no luck. But there is no tension on the inside release, and the hood isn't budging. Which I'm deducing as being a broken cable? Please advise if other potentials. The cable (front and rear) are $45. The quoted potential labor is for 1.5 hours worth of work...
