Instructions needed for replacing cabin filter

I have a 2010 Elantra Touring with 9,000 miles on it. According to the owner's manual the cabin filter, also called the climate control air filter, has to be replaced at 15,000 miles. Where is the filter located and how do I replace it?

1. Disconnect the damper (B) from the glove box (A).

2. Remove the glove box (A) from the lift (B).

3. Remove the filter cover (A) with pushing the knob.

4. Replace the air filter (B), install it after making sure of the direction of air filter.

5. Installation is the reverse order of removal. Be sure to note the direction of air flow marked on the side of the filter before removing it and install the new filter in the same orentation.

Is the arrow on the filter supposed to be pointing up or down?

The same direction as the filter that came out.

I would like to add that Hyundai put the cabin filter in one of the best places. Sure beats having to remove cowels and shields on the outside of the car! At least most owners who have little mechanical skills can DIY in under 10min.

Yeah, i completely forgot to note the direction of the arrow when I took it out. I put it back in with the arrow pointing downwards...

I don't have a Touring but Most Hyundai’s are similar. The filter is placed between the intake and the blower motor. Since the Touring has the blower on the bottom like most Hyundai’s I'm going to say the airflow comes from the top, through the filter and into the blower fan area when it's pushed into the heater system. So I would say the air flow direction is down and the arrow should face down. A Touring owner could confirm that for me.

Anyone know the part number for the Touring? Apparently the size is different than the sedan? I ordered one online for the "2010 Touring" and it was to long.

The one I received for my 2009 is OEM and has these part numbers on the box: 800135P-G and 08790-2L000-A. Label says 09-10 HY ELNTR CAF. It fits perfectly.

I believe the 2011 & 2012 Touring requires a different size filter and that's probably what you received.
