Default Melbourne mechanic to replace buzzing door lock?

Hi all,
MY 2011 i30 crdi got the dreaded door buzz (still locks and unlocks fine, just a horrendous noise when unlocking). Got a door lock off a breaker and called a mobile mechanic to fit it, but unfortunately he was not able to, something about a thread locked nut or something.
Are there any independent mechanics in Melbourne's south east that know how to do this job? I know I can take it to Hyundai, but that will be north of $1000 and the car just isn't worth it at this stage. Cheers!

There are times when fasteners have to be ground off and replaced with regular nuts and bolts.
If the "mechanic" didn't have the equip to do this with him, check with another shop and ask if they can do it.

When the vehicles are manufactured, they try to do the quickest and cheapest way to assemble some body parts.
When it comes time to replace some of the interior door parts, the replacement parts many times will come with the addl fasteners required to do the job.

To address the door buzz issue in your 2011 i30 CRDi, consider reaching out to independent mechanics in Melbourne's southeast with expertise in Hyundai models. A few options to explore include:
  1. South East Auto Repairs: Specializing in various car makes, they may assist with your Hyundai door lock concern.
  2. Cranbourne Hyundai Service Centre: Though associated with the dealership, their service department might offer solutions for specific issues.
  3. Halls Hyundai: Located in Beaconsfield, they cater to Hyundai vehicles and might provide the needed expertise. Contact each to inquire about the door lock problem, ensuring they're equipped to handle the thread-locked nut challenge.
