I bought a 15" wheel/tire package from Tire Rack and paid for fast shipping, because I'm having a truly hard time getting around on central new york roads after snowfall on the regular radials. Front wheel drive without snow tires just doesn't cut it if you live anywhere where snow is commonplace.

My last car was a Subaru Outback AWD, and with snow tires on that, I could climb telephone poles. But since the gas mileage suffers with AWD and the price tag is a good $5 - 10K over the Touring, it was not on my list.

Are we sure that 15" steel wheels will clear the calipers on a 2010 touring GLS? A friend has been having an awful time in the snow but can't swing 17" snows. When I recommended 195/65 15s on steel wheel, she said the tire store told her the 15 steels would not clear the calipers...

i installed 15" steelies and tires on my 2010 gls sport, no problemo, had them on since end of october. thank god for snow tires in the great white north

I also just installed snows on 15" rims on my GLS, they fit and work very well. One thing about Tire Rack, if you have to send stuff back it'll cost you 60$. Read the return policy, so you have to weigh lower prices versus convenience if there's a problem. They usually provide good stuff, but I ordered a tire/wheel package from them for a Corolla and their steel wheels were a little out of spec, the wheel covers stuck out an 1/8 inch more when installed than on my OEM wheels, but all the other clearances were OK so I kept them.
