Default Crankshaft Sensor A

Multimeter code P0340 (pulled twice on same connection)

-RPM gauge not engaged (selectively works)
-Stalls out at both slow and high speeds
-Engine light, Power Steering, Battery, & Oil light display
-Gasoline usage extraordinarily high
-On occasion engine light displays and flickers then remains steady
-Difficulty engaging speed, when applying gas pedal, car becomes “”rickety”.

Dashboard when stalling out at speed of 55mph.
Crankshaft Component purchased.

Went out and bought Duralast brand Crankshaft Sensor A.

Question: Where does this component plug into? I’ve tried researching it and can’t seem to get a definite answer.

My understanding is its running solely on the CAM sensor as of right now. What harm is this causing my vehicle, and will I have to replace more components after the fact?

It should be bolted on down by the engine pulley (at the lower part of the engine) that drives the serpentine belt. You may have to take off a cover or fan shroud to get to it. Not particularly familiar with that particular car, but that's where the crankshaft lives. You might ask your local Hyundai dealer, but in my area they are less than useful.

You are attempting to help yourself and that is good, however, I would suggest that you consider having someone with a good quality scan tool and the ,experience using it, help you out with this. Many times certain sensors when defective, malfunctioning, or intermittent can result with the problem you are seeing with your vehicle, but just replacing parts hoping to hit the right one can get expensive and be very discouraging.

One of our forum members will remember the following addl comment re; experience.

Good judgement comes from experience
Experience comes from bad judgement.

A lot of us have had plenty of both and that is how we learned , don't be afraid to ask for helpful suggestions, we've been there!
