2003 MATRIX check engine
 

Hi guys
I own a 2003 HYUNDAI MATRIX - I have an after market cone air filter, we live in a semi desert (sandy) area I got stuck in some sand but managed to get out after few attempts - since then the check engine light is permanently on, there is reduced engine performance, engine sound is rough - thought it was spark plugs, changed them, still the same, have reason to believe dust and sand may have gone through the filter - any solutions, am desperate

if sand has gone through how do I check, and what will I do???:(

where is the check engine light located at your dashboard/car?can you please attach the picture of it to this thread..
