Matrix 1.6 - 2003 oil consumption

Hi,

I just bought a Huyndai Matrix 1.6 gasolin from 2003 that has run 160.000 km. I am very happy about it, it runs like a charm.

However, i can see now that i have droven 800 km in it, that the oil level has falled 25% from max towards min on the oil stick. There is no oil on the floor below the car when it is parked. Also i find no oil in the cooling water.

Is that normal on this kind of car, should i just refill for each 3200 km. or do i have to repair something?

To my knowledge oil consumption is a result of poor piston rings, but is'nt that a bit too early? Can it be other more harmless things that are wrong when it consumes oil? Optimally i would prefer not to refill oil between services, but it is ok, if that is normal for this car.

Regards Jens

Might be two things here
1) valve seals
2) Rings

Normally valve seals fast giving ways and yet easy to change
Give a visit to a center and having seals replacement.
