Default 2010 Santa Fe V6 - Under hood switch

I recently bought a 2010 Santa Fe Limited (V6) and while changing the oil I noticed a contact switch under the hood. It looks like it might activate an underhood light...but there's no light. I then thought it might trigger a dashboard warning "hood open/ajar" idiot light but it doesn't have that either. So, what is the contact switch for? It is wired to the harness so I'm wondering what it's for. Any ideas?

Most likely for the anti-theft system

Agreed...last time at the dealer the service rep confirmed this switch is part of the anti-theft. Too bad...it could use an under hood light! Thanks for the replies.

There are tilt type switches out there as I have one on my Ford van. I am not sure if it is a mercury switch or something else. A fused wire to the battery and there you go. Also look for a magnetic LED light as an option.
