2.4 engine

i was going to trade my 2009 santafe in for a 2013 one but do not want the 2.4 as i have one in my 2010 sonata runs good but i dont think it has enough power and probly less in the santafe.called my dealer and he said the six is hard to find and he has a lot of people looking for them.do they still put the six in the santafe? i love my sonata but wont buy another untill they put the six back in.i owned three and the four dont cut it.

You need to do better research. The 2.4L in the 2013 Sonata is more powerful than the 2.4L in your 2010 and it uses a 6-speed auto compared to the 2010's 5-speed auto:

2010 Sonata 2.4L 4-cyl:
Horsepower: 175 hp @ 6000 rpm
Torque: 168 ft-lbs. @ 4000 rpm
5-speed auto

2013 Sonata 2.4L 4-cyl:
Horsepower: 200 hp @ 6300 rpm
Torque: 186 ft-lbs. @ 4250 rpm
6-speed auto

That's 25 more horsepower and 18 ft-lbs more torque. Not quite as fast as the 2010 V6 but still faster than your 2.4L 4-cyl.

Not enough? How about the 2013 2.0L Turbo. It will kick the crap out of the old V6:

2010 Sonata 3.3L V6:
Horsepower: 249 hp @ 6000 rpm
Torque: 229 ft-lbs. @ 4500 rpm
5-speed auto

2013 Sonata 2.0L Turbo 4-cyl:
Horsepower: 274 hp @ 6000 rpm (25 hp more than the 3.3L V6 in the old 2010 Sonata)
Torque: 269 ft-lbs. @ 1750 rpm (40 ft-lb more than the 3.3L V6 in the old 2010 Sonata)
6-speed auto

And if you want a V6 so bad, step up to the Azera. Basically the 2013 Azera is just a gussied-up Sonata with a V6:
Horsepower: 293 hp @ 6400 rpm
Torque: 255 ft-lbs. @ 5200 rpm (14 ft-lb less than the Sonata 2.0L Turbo)

As for the new 2013 Santa Fe, the V6 is only available in the long wheelbase, 3 row version, not available until later in 2013. Right now, only the short wheelbase, 2-row version is available and only with 4-cylinder engine. But they are similar engines to what's in the 2013 Sonata.

2.4L 4-cyl:
Horsepower: 190 hp @ 6300 rpm
Torque: 181 ft-lbs. @ 4250 rpm

2.0L Turbo 4-cyl:
Horsepower: 264 hp @ 6000 rpm (12 hp less than the 3.5L V6 in the old 2012 Santa Fe)
Torque: 269 ft-lbs. @ 1750 rpm (21 ft-lb more than the 3.5L V6 in the old 2012 Santa Fe)

2010 Santa Fe 3.5L V6:
Horsepower: 276 hp @ 6300 rpm
Torque: 248 ft-lbs. @ 5000 rpm

Bottom line: go drive one before you say it doesn't have enough power.

i drove a 2013 santafe today and although it was very peppy i like the 3.3 that is in mine.it also seems to rev up loudly when starting off. i think i will wait to try the six or check out the kia sorrento.

Did you drive a 2.0L Turbo or just the base 2.4L?

If you want a V6 you will have to buy the larger, heavier and more expensive 3-row, 7-passenger Santa Fe. You can't get a V6 on the 2-row, 5-passenger Santa Fe Sport.

So you will pay more for a car that's no quicker but uses more fuel.

The Sorento is available with the 3.5L V6 in a 2-row, 5-passenger model. I actually prefer the looks of the Sorento to the Santa Fe.
