2001 Santa Fe dash items acting strange...
Hi all,
Have been searching hear for quite awhile but have not found my particular problem. I got in a small fender bender 5mph or less front end bump. It didn't seem like there was any problem. Heck you couldn't even really tell it had been in an accident. Well, long story short, (too late? lol) Now when I try to use my equip such as the A/C or stereo, they act very strange. The stereo will power on and I can play cassettes and cd's but as far as the radio, it is stuck on one channel and will not change. I cannot tune it up or down either. The A/C when I turn it on, the fan works but the compressor won't turn on. I haven't physically dug into it yet as I wanted to try and get a good starting point. My first thought was to disco the batt and see if it reset something. Any thoughts suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Wanted to mention, no dummy lights on and lighting on dash seems to be fine. |

Try the battery but I bet there will be no change. Check your fuses, both under the hood and under the dash. If that doesn't shed any light, you may have something shorted out or disconnected due to the accident.

Follow Doohickies advice. If the battery reset does nothing and the fuses check out, I would check all the ground wire connections on or near the front of the car. From my limited experience with my own and some neighbors Hyundai's, Hyundai likes to bring several ground circuits together up near the headlight pods. These will be screwed or bolted directly to the metal structure of the body.

I'm not a car buff, just an owner, but have them check a sensor that is near the radiator. Don't know if it will help, but doesn't hurt to ask.
