2004 Santa Fe no radio, door locks or dome light
OK so I changed the battery in this car. Of course, I wasn't paying attention and put it in backwards. However, I never actually tried to start the suv. Once I saw sparks, I realized my mistake and disconnected the battery. I did end up blowing the 120A fuse and replaced that. However, I can't get the radio to power up, the electronic locks to work with the key fob or the interior dome lights to come on. I checked the fuses and they appear to look OK. Any where else I should look?

Yeah, I've done that.
Usually, it is the main big fuse that blows Which helps prevent further damage But, sometimes it does happen I would check all the fuses again with a test light Both sides of the fuses should light up (key on) Also make sure to test the engine bay fuse box along with the cabin fuse panel (normally located around the dash). If there is a fuse blown and it keeps blowing fuses then there might be a short I know it took out my radio. Had to replace with a cheap after market radio and connector adapter. As far as I know, the radio, power locks and interior lights all work off the same fuse Good luck |
Thanks. I did go back again to look over the fuses. I turned out the 20 AMP and 15 TS (something) were both blown. I replaced them both and got every thing going again.

Thanks for the update
