Default 2005 santa fe foglight bulbs

I would like to change out the "bulbs" in the fog lights to a yellow ones. Rather than tearing it all apart and putting back together just to find out what bulb they are using, I was wondering if anyone knew? Also how do you get to the fog lights to change the bulb? Any help is greatly appreciated!!! Jim

There should be the required information on how to change out the bulbs in your owners manual. They might also tell you what kind of bulbs your lamps use.

The bulb is not listed in the owners manual, and different bulb sights show different numbers for the bulbs

Page 6-32 of the 2005 Santa Fe owners manual indicates the fog light bulb is a 27 watt, PG 13 base bulb. This cross references to a 880 T 3-1/4 halogen type. A quick and dirty google search indicates part #HL88480 is an amber/yellow version of the bulb at this site (http://www.rallylights.com/hella/misc_bulbs.asp). A more exhaustive search will no doubt reveal other sources. Pull the OEM bulb and double check the connector base. Some sites (e.g. Sylvania) indicate the 2005 Santa Fe uses a PGJ 12 base, which has a right angle bend in it.

Yes, it is not your typical list of replacement bulbs. It is easy to overlook and requires some research to figure what bulbs are actually needed.

Any idea how to get to it to check which bulb it is?
From http://www.hmaservice.com/

FRONT FOG LAMP

1.Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

2.Remove the head lamp mounting bolts and remove the head lamp assembly.

3.Remove the screws in the front bumper cover.

4.Raise the vehicle then remove the screws holding the front bumper and the front wheel guard.

5.Remove the front fog lamp from the bumper cover.

6.Installation is the reverse of removal.

Default No No No

For a Hyundai Santa Fe 2005:
Too complicated!!!
Remove the head lamp.
You can access the fog lamp from there. DO NOT TAKE THE BUMPER OFF!!!
Remove cap, unplug lamp, pull out old buld, replace with new bulb, replace plug, replace cap.
Also, many auto parts stores have a right-angle plug-in. NOT TRUE!
Straight plug, I used CarQuest clbBP893.
I just changed my fog lamp in about 5 minutes.

I switched out my wife's 2008 with yellow bulbs. Looks great! Just got to them by un-doing some of the plastic pans under the bulbs and bumper. May be different on yours. Search EBay for "881 yellow" and you'll find them there.
