2007 Santa Fe A/C fuse blowing

Twice now the A/C 10 amp fuse under the hood has blown. Once in very hot weather and once today in cooler 77 degree weather. Both times I have been either had my boat hooked up to the vehicle.

First time we had taken the boat to the lake. I knew the air was off because when I went to retrieve the boat, the air was not working.

This time I hooked up the boat to get gas, and when I got back to the garage, the air was not working. I'm not sure exactly when it went out as I had the windows rolled down.

I am wondering if there might be an issue with my light harness to the trailer? Or maybe it is just a coincidence. The boat is only 17' long and well under the towing limit of 3500 pounds. It maybe weighs 2200 trailer and all.

What do you think? I am kind of wondering before I take it to the dealership.

Thanks,

Daniel

Went to the dealer and had a new compressor installed. Compressor cost $320 or so and labor was $275.

All you needed is the field coil replaced.!when they go bad. They short out internally and blow the a/c fuse.

I mentioned something to that effect, but it wasn't an option they gave me.

I have a pretty good relationship with my service department, and they have never pulled what I would consider a fast one. If they did this time, it was the first.

The Hyundai dealership is one of those where a name owns four or five different brands, and they are noted in the Dayton area as being pretty straight forward.

I remember having an really nice '87 Bonneville and took it to the Pontiac dealership in Xenia, Ohio. On the way back home, the engine started acting funny, so I turned right around and went back. They had left a couple of parts unconnected and made it sound like I had done it on my drive home. I did make them check it out as my repair was unrelated to the new problem. The shop guy admitted they had erred. I never went back to them!
