2007 Santa Fe GLS inner shaft bearing bracket assembly
 

I asked this in another forum, but I thought to post here as well to get more information.

I have some vibration and noise while driving, so I thought it was the passenger side wheel bearing. After removing the wheel and the brake caliper on the passenger side, I rotated the rotor to see how bad the wheel bearing is. But, it looks like I'm getting clicking noises as I rotate back and forth from what the service manual calls it "inner shaft bearing bracket assembly". This part is connecting the outer CV axle (passenger side) to the transmission.

It looks like I have to buy the whole assembly to replace it? Has anyone dealt with the inner shaft replacement? I don't mind using a 3rd party parts, but it looks like I won't find the inner shaft made by a 3rd party. I can only find outer CV axle. Any tips are appreciated. I'm going to go ahead and replace the wheel bearing and pack it up for now.

Typically, the CV shaft is replaced.

First time I changed a CV axle, I was overwhelmed by the idea of having to do this by myself
Took me three hours due to stuck nuts and bolts
Second time, replacing the other side CV axle, it took 30 minutes.
Knew what to expect and was ready for it.

That wheel bearing could be a sealed unit and notable to be relubricated..

There is nothing wrong with attempting to purchase parts at a low price and have them delivered.
Some items are what we would call, "Dealer Items". Either only available from a dealership parts dept, or not available anywhere else.

I believe the part(s) you seek are going to be dealer items.
FYI., the parts dept will usually require your VIN (vehicle identification number) from which they can come up with the correct part for your particular vehicle. Parts may appear the same , but can be different. A lot of times you will pay more for a dealer part, but it should be the correct part the first time, and if the original part lasted as long as it did , the replacement should do the same. My suggestion is based on not wanting to tie up a vehicle if the incorrect part is ordered or delivered. and you need to be careful of the quality of some parts these days.
