does anyone know of a way to increase fuel economy on a V6 09 santa fe, do any of the aftermarket gadgets work? :)

Best advice: change the habits of the driver. Easy acceleration, let off the throttle early and coast to a stop, cruise control on the highways, etc.

Air in the tires correct, fresh clean oil in crankcase all the time, driver habits..

The PCM (Powertrain Control Module) or ECU (Engine Control Unit) or computer as most people call it wiil adjust to correct any changes you might try to make. It is programed at the factory to meet EPA standards.

Only changes that can made is by dealer if there was a program change to change logic in some sub system, like we have updates for a couple that revised the throttle position/torque calculation, another for transmission shift program --> Sonata that has a firm down shift that people do not like, so change program to give a softer shift (more slippage). Then at that, the new programs have to go through the EPA for approval before they is released to us at the dealer level.

The Ox sensors used is actually "fuel ratio" sensors, the PCM monitors the input from them and knows that the running voltage is 2.0
volt, so any changes seen at the sensor (up or down), the PCM will trim the fuel accordinglt to maintain that 2.0 volt signal.

Be very cautious as to dinking with anything powertrain related, as it will commonly VOID your emission warranty, and violate .GOV laws...
