2009 Santa Fe V6 NEED HELP
2009 Santa Fe V6 has a loud noise coming from the back side of the engine block after cranking. It does not do it all the time. It sounds like a bad bearing screaming. The noise only happens when in park or neutral. If you put it in gear, the noise stops. If you put it back in neutral or park it starts again. Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Some sort of pilot shaft bushing problem? Or maybe a torque converter bushing/bearing problem?
|
No,
Turned out to be the ignition switch. It was engaging the starter after the car was already running. Made a terrible noise. Quick $13 part and a lot of lying under the dash fixed the problem. |
You're lucky it didn't eat up the starter bendix.
|
You are correct. I still do not know how it did not. It was doing it for a while before I figured out what was going on.

No w I have it fix the fuel level sensor problem.
