Default Automatically shift to Park when driver door opened?

On the 2023 Santa Fe Calligraphy model, should the transmission automatically shift to Park when the driver's door is opened and the car isn't moving?

This seems to be a safety feature on some cars e.g. Ford Edge.

Recently, my wife stopped her Santa Fe to help an older woman she saw fall in a parking lot. She thought she put the car in Park before getting out to help. Apparently, she didn't put it into Park. As she ran to help the woman, the car idled forward into a short pole cemented into the ground causing about $8,600 damage.

Just wondering if this is supposed to be a feature that didn't work in her car.

Default 21 sante fe rolled away after parked and walking away

Hi!!
my 21 sante fe has this same safety feature and I am proof that it isn't reliable or doesn't work when the doors closed and driver has already exited becaise my sante fe has rolled out of park after I exited on 2 occasions.
Hyundai has opened over 15 cases in reference to this case with trying to obtain a.resolution
Hyundai refuse to take accountability and at first mfirs.e out to be a liar.
but a kbar.later it happened again and this time with witnesses outside of my immediate family.

It's been almost 2 Years I've been fighting for s resolution and I am now reaching out to legal representatives to aid me in this case
