Dash lights flashing, then no acceleration

I was driving on the highway last evening and the lights on my dashboard all started flashing. I was on a hill starting to go down and was losing speed. The engine was still running, so I tried giving it more gas to speed back up, but it continued to slow down. I coasted to a stop at the bottom the hill and found a safe place to pull over. I had a half tank of gas so I knew it wasn't that.

Roadside came and towed my Santa Fe (08) to the dealership where it sits now until tomorrow.

Has anybody else experienced this type of problem?

Specifically which lights ?

'08 with less than 60,000 be covered under warranty anyways.

MIL, ESC, ABS ?

Couple common scenario, you report back with findings as documented on your invoice..

1 - MIL, P-2135, 1295, 2106, replace TPS with appropriate sensor (2.7 or 3.3), reprogram PCM, program called in TSB been superceded by #167 or 177 (2.7 or 3.3). This will turn on ESC light, cut communications between PCM & ESC/ABS, so all codes need to be cleared.

2 - missed 092 recall for brake light switch replace, and assorted ESC codes set, and communication cut off to PCM, clear all codes when done

Report back with findings, thanks

I am hoping to hear back from the dealership today as it was closed yesterday. I didn't receive any notices for a recall. There's only 44 KMs on it so it's well under warrenty still. I will post when I hear from my tech.

The lights that were flashing was the Engine check light, the ESC, and another light beside it the icon with 4 wheels and base of the SUV, not sure what that's called.

Got my Santa Fe back today! It was the throttle sensor that had malfunctioned. It was replaced under warranty as hoped!

Hi Verna,

It happened to my wife at 50,000 miles. It is still at the dealership after four days. Part of the days the weekend. I'll tell them to check the throttle. Thanks.
