Front passenger seat out vs airbag light on
Hi all,
I had to remove the front passenger seat for a few weeks to have extra space in the car. Just wondering if doing this affects the airbag system, as the light is on dashboard. Any idea if i can have the front passenger seat out and the airbag functioning at the same time?
Thanks

There is an occupant sensor in some passenger seats that tells the SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) the seat is or is not occupied and which steps to perform based on that info. If disconnected , the system is usually non function able regarding that situation. The light being illuminated is telling the operator there is a malfunction within the system.
Never tried to determine if the driver was protected in that case.
