Has anyone tried to take a full size spare tire and mount inside of the Santa Fe sport? I can see that there is plenty of room if the Styrofoam compartments are removed.


That way no one can steal it, it would be easier to check the air pressure and if you ever get a flat it would be easier to access.


I did install a full size tire in the back of my KIA soul and it fit fine. the compartment closes just like usual. Similar to the Santa Fe compartment.


I have an extra rim for the Santa Fe and a 17" tire the same height and perhaps thinner would work. The same tire size may work.


There would be room to store your stuff in the compartment around the spare tire.
