HEEEELLLLPPPP Accidently twisted fuel line
Hey everyone. I have a 2010 santa fe 3.5 v6. I changed the oil pressure sensor and accidentally twisted the fuel line. Now it's leaking. Can anyone help me find a part number? Is it safe to cut the 2 inches of line out and re-attach?
Fuel lines in the engine compartment are usually under pressure from the fuel pump; which means that the connections are usually some kind of connector that can handle the pressure. I don't know the particular fuel line you're looking at, but if it is a rubber hose with a hose clamp, you might be able to cut that hose and re-attach it temporarily., but that could be a very bad idea. If it's a metal line, or a braided metal line with a compression fitting, then it would be best to get the correct part.
If there is a dealership, or any reputable auto parts stores nearby (which means that I avoid auto zone), they can help you locate the correct part. I usually check RockAuto.com to look for parts, but you need to have a fairly good idea of which part you're looking for and you need to be able to wait a week for shipping.
