How to change TPS Sensor 2002 2.7v6?
Does anybody know how to change the Throttle Position Sensor -TPS Sensor 2002 2.7v6? Is this something that I can change easily? Any step by step instructions would be great, as I am told it is simple..

DESCRIPTION
HARNESS CONNECTOR
USING VOLTMETER
1.Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
2.Measure resistance between terminal 2 (sensor ground) and terminal 1 (sensor power).
Standard value : 1.6 - 2.4 kΩ
3.Connect a pointer type ohmmeter between terminal 2 (sensor ground) and terminal 1 (sensor output).
4.Operate the throttle valve slowly from the idle position to the full open position and check that the resistance changes smoothly in proportion with the throttle valve opening angle.
5.If the resistance is out of specification, or fails to change smoothly, replace the throttle position sensor.
Tightening torque
TPS : 1.5-2.5 Nm (15-25 kg·cm, 1.1-1.8 lb·ft)
TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS
The TPS signal is important in the control of the automatic transaxle. Shift shock and other trouble will occur if the sensor is faulty.
HARNESS INSPECTION TROCEDURES (TPS)
ADJUSTMENT [2.7 V6]
Before adjusting the TP Sensor, complete the basic idle speed adjustment.
1.Disconnect the throttle position sensor connector.
2.Using jumper wires, connect a voltmeter between terminal 1 (sensor ground)and terminal 2 (idle switch) of the throttle position sensor connector.
3.Insert a 0.65 mm (0.0256 in.) thick feeler gauge between the fixed SAS andthrottle lever.
4.Loosen the throttle position sensor mounting bolts and turn the TP Sensorbody fully counterclockwise.
5.In this condition, check that there is continuity between terminals 1 and2.
6.Slowly turn the throttle position sensor clockwise until you find a pointat which there is no continuity between terminal 1 and 2. Then, tighten thethrottle position sensor mounting bolt securely.
7.Connect the throttle position sensor connector.
8.Connect the scan tool to the data link connector in the fuse box.
9.If the scan tool is not used, connect a voltmeter between throttle positionsensor connector terminals 1 (sensor ground) and 3 (sensor output) using pin.
• Do not disconnect the TP Sensor connector.
• Use a digital type voltmeter to obtain an accurate value.
10.Turn the ignition switch "ON."
Do not start the engine.
11.Check the throttle position sensor output voltage.
Throttle position sensor output voltage : 250~800 mV
12.If the voltage is out of specification, check the throttle position sensorand associated harnesses.
13.Remove the feeler gauge.
14.Turn the ignition switch OFF.

If the fast idle speed is not adequate or the engine gives off dark smoke during warm-up, the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (ECTS) might be the cause.
INSTALLATION
1.Apply sealant LOCTITE 962T or the equivalent to the threaded portion.
2.Install the ECTS and tighten it to the specified torque.
Tightening Torque : 20 ~ 40 N·m (2 ~ 4 kg·m, 14~29 lb·ft)
3.Securely connect the harness connector.

Appreciate your help.. i have one last question.. my 2002 with 2.7v6, in order to access this part does the top of the engine which looks like to me is an old fashioned looking manifold, does this simply come off? is this simple? it seemd like you have to in order to access anything

Well,i bought a genuine hyundai coolant sensor and installed it today, now the car took 10 secs to of cranking to start, hesitates at low speed then it catches, feels like a fuel problem now, and also have a CEL. However my, original problem of it stalling at low speed after it was warmed appears to have gone away. I was told a bad sensor would make this car stall when it was warmed up due to computer not adjusting timing, injections, idle etc...
I did not check the wiring harness...not sure what now...
