Our 2001 Santa Fe-still going strong!
We bought it 2 years ago, and have loved it ever since. Plan to keep it till it can no longer be made to move.
Just wondering if anyone knows about how many Santa Fe's are in the US...we see many of them every time we are out driving...once we saw 4 others in the same parking lot as ours.
They are great GP rides, especially around here in PA where we have snow to contend with...NEVER had any problems in winter or other bad weather driving.

Bought our 2005 in 2006 with a little over 17K miles on it. It now has over 83K miles on it and runs great. Going through the snow with the AWD is unbelievable. We'll do the same as you and keep it until it doesn't make sense financially to keep it anymore. Biggest expense so far was getting the timing belt replaced, but that was preventative. There hasn't been anything that's gone wrong with it other than the obligatory cracked tone ring.
The opposite is true of mine compared to the one in the picture. Engine and exterior are very clean. Interior is another story. Every time I give it a complete detailing in there including cleaning the carpet and upholstery my wife manages to spill a coffee or soda in it. I think she's worse than the kids .

We did recently replace the timing belt, and got new pulleys and had recall work done (free) on the suspension for rust. It had about 70,000 when we bought it, and still is under 80,000 2 years later. We have the V6, too-it has a lot of power and mileage in the low 20's. Ours has a few fading paint spots ane a ding or two, but it handles very well and is a comfortable ride.
