Default ringing noise from rear wheel when turning right

04 SF 3.5L. getting a ringing noise only when turning right from passenger side rear wheel. Was just in for loud noise (turned out heat shield was rubbing against driveshaft). Wife picked it up today from shop and I drove it after I got home. Wife said mechanic told her he checked the rear bearings and said they are OK.

If not the bearings what would cause that ringing noise only in one direction?

You picked it up from the mechanic and he didn't find the cause of the problem?
Was he/she told about it?
What about the brakes?
Rear rotors or drum?

original reason was for loud noise (almost like a roar) appearing to come from rear end. Mechanic was asked to check rear bearings as possible cause. Mechanic told wife when she picked up car that noise was from a rusted heat shield rubbing against the drive shaft and that the bearings were OK. I drove car after I got home from work and heard the ringing type noise, all the loud noises are gone now. Wife a bit hard of hearing and plays the radio loud so she wouldn't have heard it.

Rear brakes (rotors & pads) done back in April. Dropped it off yesterday at a different shop, we'll see what they say.

If it isn't the bearings then it has got to be the brakes
Maybe the glide pins are sticking?
Or ...

Good luck with that
Hope it is something simple and cheap to fix

Turned out to be the parking brake spring had broken on that side and would rub when turning right. Mechanic said he had never seen that before.

Okay, that is great news. Not too expensive.
And it is fixed
Thanks for the update
