Seats in '07 Santa Fe

Just bought a LTD Santa Fe with the touring and premium packages, steel gray. Love the car, EXCEPT: the more I drive it, the more I'm bugged by the high position of the driver's seat. (I'm about 6'2.) Anyone know about a way to mod the seat rail assembly to lower it? It's not so much too close as too high, so extending the rails wouldn't do it, I don't think...Thanks all!

After I bought mine, also with the touring pkg. decided to treat the carpet and seats with a marine grade scotch guard type spray. It is a solvent base and works for years. (2 1/2 cans at $10 ea) Beats the $180. dealer water base crap. Anyway, I took the seats outand I can tell you there is no way I can see that the rails be lowered. If you cut and reweld the mounds at each end, maybe. You might think about those after market race type seats. Stiff as a board but they do sit lower.

I have an '07 Santa Fe and noticed the seats sit a bit high too. I'm just 6'0" so I can imagine what 6'2 is like. It seems the car was designed by someone 5'5" since raising the power seats really puts you up high. However, outside of a few complaints I still love it.

I have the same problem I am 6'1" and I have to reclined the seat more than usual. I have noticed that playing with the lumbar adjustment help a little. I have the GLS (canadianequivalent to Limited model) with the sunroof that doen't help neither. But love the vehicle, that is my only complaints, but I have a Tribute before and same problem so I think SUV are like that....
