Default Trading in our 2018 Santa Fe Ultimate Sport....

With 18k miles, we are trading in our Santa Fe, Ultimate Sport. Although this isn't the sole reason, we continue to have issues with the smart cruise/cruise and back-up camera malfunctioning, working for a bit and then malfunctioning again. We live 220 miles from the nearest Hyundai dealership, so each and every time we have an issue, we have to travel to have it taken care of. There are a couple of other personal reasons for our trade-in. All in all, we are happy with the styling and things our Santa Fe offers, but we are done with it.

Spoke with a Hyundai dealer last week about trading in my 2019 Santa Fe SEL with 8,000 miles. Paid $26,000, the book value now is in the $19,000 range. I decided that I will never purchase another Hyundai or Kia. Even though I like my S-F. ......Toyota-Honda-Subaru hold their value much better !

We got $24,500 for our trade on our 2018 with 18k miles. So, we made a profit of about $2,918, which we put as a down-payment toward a Kona Ultimate AWD. W deal with an exceptional dealership and the fact that we purchased four new vehicles from them in 5 1/2 years, helped a lot. I was against getting another Hyundai, but the wife wanted a Kona and the dealership was generous, so all is good. Hyundai vehicles do lose their value faster than most brands. I know that.

I'd say you got a super trade deal on your 2018...where is that dealer located ?
Might be worth my while to drive there. I like the Kona but to small for us.

Broadway Hyundai, Green Bay, WI. Talk to Angie and tell her I sent you. The sticker on the Kona was $26,300. The Kona is small, but my wife is tiny and with no children, it is perfect for her to run errands and commute to work. Her daily commute is only 3 miles each way. She loves it.

That would be 800 or 900 miles from home . 120 miles to my dealer now, hate it!

you say the Dealer is 220 miles from home and yet you bought another Hyundai......Hope that you never need to return to that Dealer for service or a recall.
