Transmission fluid flush interval..
 

Hey guys,

I was just curious at what mileage you all did your transmision fluid changes? I currently have 29k miles, and I'm thinking that I should probably do it sometime between 30 and 60k. What do you all suggest?

Also, what did the dealer quote you to do this?

As far as other service goes, when should the engine air filter be changed, as well as the cabin filter? What do these cost from the dealer, and what do they charge to install them?

Change the trans fluid at 30k.

The price depends on the service done. Is it a flush or a pan change? Do the drop the pan and change the filter?

Refer to the owners manual for maintainence intervals.

Trans fluid change every 30K miles.

Engine and cabin air filters change every 10-12K miles.

Also, what do they charge for air filter/ cabin air filter replacement?

Lastly, for a 07 SF Limited 3.3, what do you all suggest having done at 30k? They offered me the 30k service for $399, which consisted of the trans service, brake inspection, various other inspections, PCV valve replacement, and some other miscellaneous crap. Would that be worth it, or should I just vouch for the trans service, air filter and cabin air filter replacement? Any thoughts would be helpful!

ALso, how many miles are you all getting out of the OEM brakes? I know that this will vary from person to person, but I'm just wondering on average how long they usually last if the suv isn't driven too hard.

$400 for the 30K service is a good price. I'd let them do it.

Ok, Nova, thanks... I was figuring that wasn't too bad of a price... Especially considering the fact that the trans service itself is probably over a $100...

Any idea on brake pad longetivity?

The owners manual calls for a trans service at 60k for the first time... so, why is it necessary to do it at 30k? How can Hyundai actually determine whether or not you meet the severe driving requirements?

The majority of cars on the road today are driven under what would be considered severe driving.

Severe driving is repeated short distance driving, extended idling, heavy traffic, or hot weather. Driving in dusty or sandy conditions, rough roads, mountainous areas, or where salt or other corrosive materials are used in cold weather.

I guess I meet that criteria.

How hard is it to replace the engine air filter and the cabin air filter? What does the cabin filter run, and are there any DIY instructions? What does the deAler charge for this?

The air filter and cabin air filter are very easy to change. The procedure should be listed in the owners manual.
