transmission transaxle stuck

I'm working on a 2.4L with manual transmission. Engine and trans are out of the 2003 Santa Fe. Unfortunately I can only get the transmission 3/4" away from the engine. YES I do have the clutch release lever removed completely (even removed the bushing). I've been prying on this thing really hard. Not sure what to try next. I can't get to the pressure plate (clutch cover) bolts unless I cut an access hole in the bell housing. Anybody have the same problem or have any suggestions?

Well Brutus and Forcecus came over and after much tugging, wedging, pulling and pounding I got it out. Is the flywheel supposed to be "floating" within the starter ring gear?

If you replaced clutch, is this supposed to be there?

Working on a 2003 2.4L Santa Fe. In the picture of the transmission input shaft you can see a rim (red arrow) around the surface that the clutch release bearing is supposed to ride on. Is it supposed to be there? It is bigger diameter than the release bearing opening so to get the release bearing on there would take force and damage the release bearing. Do you remember seeing this when you changed your clutch?
Thanks much.

No it is not supposed to be there. Here's a pic of the new part.

This explains why I had such a problem getting the transmission out in this thread:
