White Pearl paint coming off hood ?

:( Our White Pearl colored 2010 Santa Fe's paint is flaking off in large pieces.
Is there anything that I can do as far as a warranty against this. We bought it second hand and currently have 79000 miles on it.

My 2009 has been peeling white paint, especially on the hood. Unfortunately the warranty on the paint is 3/36K, so they would not cover it. It seems to be a common problem with those vehicles made around 2009/2010.

Martin,
Thanks for your reply. Paint shops say it is a $400 paint job on the hood alone as it is a 3 stage paint process. Not just one quote but 3. That sucks, never had this problem with other cars. It is on the hood and when I tried to mask it off and paint the spot with a rattle can when I took of the masking tape even more paint came off. Good Grief!!
Hello MAACO....

Hello MAACO....

I think the paint problem is caused by sun damage. $400 is quite expensive.

I have a 2013 Santa Fe that the white pearl paint is bubbling/peeling off my hood. My car is 41 months old and only had 35,988 miles on it at the time it started. I would have thought paint should have lasted longer than 41 months. I took it to the dealership and they submitted it to Hyundai. They denied the claim because my car was to old. (My car does not sit in the sun during the day! I park in a parking garage or under a carport everyday) REALLY! The service manager told me this should not have happened and told me to call customer care. The service manager showed it to the Hyundai Rep and they submitted new paperwork to Hyundai. Now it is a waiting game to see if they will do anything. I was told by a body shop that it is a paint problem with Hyundai! Feeling very disappointed with Hyundai! I did see on Classaction.org they are looking into paint problems with Hyundai.
