01 sonata airbag light

anyone ever had an airbag light come up on an 01 sonata for no apparent reason? It came on about a week ago and when I plug in a scanner I get code number B1382 passenger sidebag resistance high.
anyone ever get that code before? anyone know what the problem is?
any help would be greatly appreciated ;)

RE: 01 sonata airbag light

Sounds like you need a new side airbag. Or more likely, the connector is loose. It is under the seat. Try to make sure all the connectors under your seat are tightly connected. Any airbag connectors will be yellow or red, and have yellow on the wires. Basically, anything yellow is safety system related stuff.

RE: 01 sonata airbag light

Thanks for the quick response Doohickie, I went outside and unplugged the airbag plug...moved the seat all around...back and forth and reclined and up and then plugged it back in. I used my scanner to reset the airbag light and it hasnt come back on ;) thanks for the insight...I really should have thought of checking the plug lol. I work in car stereo so ususally I try to work around the airbags not on them ;)
