'03 Sonata V6 tranny flush and filter change

Hi, I have a 2.7 V6 with 4 sp auto trans with 103 K. I figure its time for tranny flush. I planned on using amsoil synthetic. I read that to change the filter you need to pull the transmission. Does anyone know if this is true. Has anyone flushed their tranny ?

To replace the trans filter, you must remove the transmission, then split the cases to get inside and get at filter... we are not allow to open the cases on auto trans at dealer level, only TRANSLEAD does when they overhaul for the Re-Man program

Use Hyundai-Kia SP-III trans fluid only for best results.

Thanks SBR711 for your help. Now I need to find someone who will do the flush properly. Local mechanic didn't want to do the complete flush with Amsoil tranny fluid. He wasn't familiar enough with the Amsoil to run it in his flush machine. So I might just let him do it with Hyundai SP III fluid. That's better than just dranning and adding a few quarts of new Synthetic fluid.
